April showers bring May flowers! We open our Farm Stand in May with an abundance of colorful annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, and herbs which we have been growing in our greenhouses since February. Yes, February is when we toast up the greenhouses after scouring seed catalogs in January to buy all our favorite and your favorite veggie and flower seeds to grow for you to purchase at the farm stand. We begin growing these favorite seeds in 200 cell trays. We then place them on a warm heating bench and await their germination anywhere from 7 to 21 days. This is when constant daily, even hourly TLC is so important for all these seedlings to survive. Once these little seeds have sprouted and have enough growth on them, we transplant them into larger cell trays to grow on so we can plant them in the fields at the end of May. That's not the end yet! We hope and pray Mother Nature will Bless us with good growing conditions so we can harvest our crops for you all to enjoy.
